Amazing Midair Skydiving Rescue

Amazing midair skydiving rescue

This amazing skydiving video is like something out of an action movie. This is the sort of thing that happens in movies, but you’d never expect it to be possible in real life. The video was filmed during a skydiving outing over Wiltshire in South West England. There’s a big group out skydiving together. Once they’re out of the plane, one the skydivers crashes into the back of 25-year-old James Lee, knocking Lee unconscious. The other skydivers notice that Lee is unconscious in free fall, so they maneuver over to him and are able to grab hold of him and release his parachute before they get too low. After his parachute was released and his rate of descent slowed, Lee started to regain consciousness. He ends up landing safely, but according to the video, he has no recollection of what happened. Lee was wearing a video camera that captured the entire incident. If this happened to you, how could you even begin to thank your skydiving friends for coming through for you in such a huge way?

If you’re familiar with skydiving, you know that the typical rate of free fall is around 120 miles per hour. As you fall, there is a very strong feeling of the wind resistance blowing back against you, which is why Lee’s arms are moving around even though he’s unconscious in the video. The UK newspaper The Telegraph published the video to YouTube on January 30, and its already amassed nearly 2.5 million views. Watch the dramatic incident in the video below.
